This Thing of Ours

Dear Obsessed Fantasy Sports Freak Person,

That you have arrived at this site and navigated any further is testament to the fact you are obsessed with fantasy sports. Do you spend more time setting your fantasy lineup at your job than you do actually working? Has your significant other given up trying to speak to you on Sundays? Late at night, do shadows take the shape of a be-crutched Dominic Davis forcing you into a headlong sprint through the dark to snatch Wali Lundy off the waiver wire?

Well, fear not, for here, you are amongst friends.

We at FantasyFootballDisputes.com believe, unequivocally, that fantasy sports are the most important facet of life. Some may make an argument for family, but in all honesty who in your family has ever scored three touchdowns on Monday Night Football to help you defeat a divisional rival. Others may argue that the friendships you maintain during a season are more important, but truthfully how many friends will last as long (or bring you as much happiness) as LaDainian Tomlinson in keeper league format. As for religion, well …let’s just say that the man upstairs must not have been thinking clearly when he tried to claim Sundays as his own.

To many of you, your fantasy sports league is a welcomed escape from the pressures of the outside world. A sanctuary from the real. A place where your standing is based not on bureaucracy, but in the wins column. A place to voice your opinion, to be heard, and to sometimes make fun of someone’s mother.

Now if you are anything like we are, your obsession with fantasy football came as a package deal with the sincerest belief that you are always right. Sure, it may be easy to explain this higher power to your girlfriend, your co-worker or your sister. But the problem begins when twelve of you competitive know-it-alls are crammed into a fantasy football league and split into divisions. How, we pose, can twelve individuals with twelve different opinions, all be right?

The answer, of course, is that they can’t.

Now, we by no means condone living by the letter of law. But so many of us enter into this sacred world of fantasy sports without even the most basic laws of the land. It’s pandamonium out there! The most ridiculous part of it all is that the majority of fantasy leagues are played for money. What? Would you place a bet with a bookie that had not clearly defined the odds? And so through this web of anarchy, our true paths in life have emerged.

To offer, at no cost to you, an objective voice in times of fantasy sports peril. A fair and balanced solution to all of your fantasy football – and baseball disputes. A beacon of light through the dark and shady world of unfair trades, scoring disputes, corrupt commissioners and the like.

Good luck, and remember, you may have to eat it in the other aspects of your life, but when it comes to your fantasy team, don’t be an RB2. Stand up and demand justice.
